We’ve got the Samsung Fascinate!

Verizon's Galaxy S PhoneSo we thought the Epic 4G was pretty epic.

Will the Verizon Galaxy S phone be as Fascinating?

I’m really excited to spend a few days with this gorgeous piece of tech. We’ll be putting it through it’s paces to see how it compares to the other phones in Samsung’s line up.

As I’m on Sprint personally, I can’t wait to put it up against the Epic, and have my own CDMA mini-face off!

When you’re doing this, can you pay some attention to the differences between Bing and Google as the search engine?

I might be getting the Fascinate, but I really need to know whether or not Bing is comparable to Google.

You bet Thunder (may I call you Thunder).

It’s one of the things I was most … intrigued … by in the design. Seemed kinda like putting Mobile Me on a Windows 7 Phone.

So far it hasn’t hampered the use of the device, but it is different than any other Android phone I’ve used…

Feel free to call me Thunder. =P

I mean, I’m okay with Bing, but if the operating system was created by GOOGLE, then shouldn’t it be at least an option?

Also, I read in the Gizmodo review that the Google Search widget is almost blocked on the phone. Can you confirm this? http://bit.ly/diiai7

And is there Google Maps? Or is it Bing maps?

I’ll definitely be talking about that in the review.
From having used Droids and now using an Epic 4G as my daily driver, you start to develop an expectation as to how an android device will respond.

I’ll be talking about this more during the review, but this is the curse of an “open” operating system. A carrier can do ANYTHING they want to it…
