Samsung Teams Up with HBO to Offer HBO GO App for their Smart TVs and Blu-ray Players
It’s all about connectivity.
When we reviewed Samsung’s BD-C6500 Blu-ray player, we told you how impressed we were with not only the hardware, but the software as well. And why is having a connected eco system so important? Here’s a perfect example:
Thanks to Samsung’s Television Apps (that also work on their WiFi enabled Blu-ray players), they can strike deals exactly like the one they just struck with Home Box Office. The new HBO GO app (coming later this year) for Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-ray players will allow users to instantly watch any episode of their favorite HBO series, including The Sopranos, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire and Sex and the City; there will be over 1400 episodes to choose from and current HBO subscribers won’t have to pay anything extra for the service. We’ll have more details as they become available; but for now, check out the full press release after the jump…
