iOS Developers can officially go hands-on with one of iOS 5’s newest features: iTunes Match. If you recall from the iOS 5 keynote at WWDC, iTunes Match will scan your music collection, and any song you have (including those ripped from a CD) will be made available on iCloud and automatically download to all of your iOS devices, as long as they’re available in the iTunes store. Another advantage of the service is that iTunes Match will also make sure that the highest quality versions of all of your songs will be downloaded (again, as long as the song is available in the iTunes Store). We’ve purchased the $24.99 annual subscription and our hard drive is being scanned. The new feature was made available Monday to developers in a Beta preview of iTunes, and we’ll follow-up once we’ve had some more time with it.
