CES: ZAGG HzO Wateproofing Demo and ZAGG Keys Hands On!

I love Zagg. Can I just get that out of the way right now?
In a world full of Gorilla Glass displays, I still cover every slab of glass I own with some kind of screen guard, and it’s usually a Zagg.

I heard they were demo-ing their new “HD” line of screen guards, so I went to check them out. When I got to their booth I got distracted by their HzO tech display and completely forgot to look for the guards.

HzO is a chemical treatment which coats the internals of a device to make them substantially more water resistant. It’s not a consumer applied product, so any use of it has to be installed either by Zagg or the device manufacturer. The display was really fun though, and reminded me of my Motorola Defy torture test. I mean it’s the year 2012, and the one device we rely on the most to make it through the day can be defeated by a glass of water? Come on!

I was also pleased to see their expansion into cases, keyboards, and other accessories. Admittedly, I’d never really checked out the site or product lines outside of shopping for screen protectors.

The ZaggKeys line of wireless keyboards looked great. Good key spacing, light but solid build, and toggle switches to chnage hotkey functionality and shortcuts from Android to iOS.

We’ll be talking to Zagg a bit more in the future to get some hands on time with those, as well as their newly acquired line of iFrogz audio gear!
