VLC version 2 is arriving this year for virtually every desktop platform (not mobile yet, sorry). The new update brings a completely overhauled interface to the media player, plus true 64-bit operation on both Windows and Mac. It supports multiple videos including those within RAR archives, enhanced video output modes, and Blu-ray media support. Plans are in the world to port VLC 2.0 over to Android, iOS, OS/2 and more. Check it out this week.
