G-Technology’s G-Raid with Thunderbolt Drive Now on Sale

Published On April 18, 2012 | By Marc Aflalo | Accessories, Computers, News

Hitachi’s new G-Technology line is finally here and ready to buy. The G-Raid with Thunderbolt is available now in 4TB, 6TB and 8TB models starting at $700 through $1000 for the highest capacity. The unit features dual thunderbolt ports for daisy chaining as well as two 3Gbps 7200RPM Hard Drives that can be configured in RAID – or RAID 1 for redundancy. Do not mistake these for mobile hard drives, as they requires their own power supplies–but for high-speed, high-capacity storage, they should definitely do the trick.

I see all over the web these drives are FOR SALE. Yet I can’t find them ANYWHERE! Does anyone have information on who’s selling them?

  2. Hey Daniel!

We did a bit of research, and it seems that you’re right–perhaps Hitachi jumped the gun a bit with their “available now.” We’ll keep on top of the situation and let you know when we finally see it come to retail; in the meantime, here’s a link to Hitachi’s product page so you can keep track as well:
