Xbox 360 Gets Amazon Instant Video App

This is one that I’ve been patiently waiting for. I’ve always been a fan of Amazon Prime; for $79 a year, I get free 2 day shipping (yes, even on huge “freight shipping” sized products) on millions of products–and it’s already paid for itself several times over. The added to bonus to being a “Prime”member is that thanks to Amazon’e ever-expanding library of books, movies and television shows, there are thousands of movies and videos you can watch for free (as well as books you can borrow without charge) in addition to the ones you can buy. While Amazon Instant Video was available on many different platforms, Xbox 360 owners were out of luck…until today. Here’s the official word from Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos:

Dear Customers,

You can already stream Prime Instant Videos on your Kindle Fire, your PlayStation 3, your Roku, and hundreds of other TVs, Blu-ray players, and set-top boxes. Today, we’re excited to announce that the Xbox 360 joins the fold.
