The LS: Everything you Expect from a Ballistic Case…and Less

When it comes to rugged iPhone cases, no one seems to do it better than Ballistic. Way back in 2010, we told you about the Ballistic HC–a case that could stand up to just about anything you threw at it. A couple of months later, we told you about the Ballistic SG; a slightly less bulky case that offered excellent protection, with a slimmer profile. Well here we are in 2012, and it’s time you got to know a bit about the third member of the Ballistic iPhone case family: The Ballistic LS. While the HC and SG are still incredibly popular cases, Ballistic knows that many customers are looking for something even slimmer and a bit more fashionable, without having to sacrifice protection–and the LS hits the mark beautifully.

Long Term Review: Nokia Lumia 710

About halfway through my long term evaluation of the Galaxy Nexus, my pals at Nokia hooked me up with one of their new Windows Phone Handsets. At first I was a little disappointed. It wasn’t the new (new at the time) hotness Lumia 800, but the little brother Lumia 710.

I’m used to reviewing premier handsets, and this was like 90 Lumia points less than one I wanted to get my hands on.

However, after using it for a couple of days, I asked Nokia if I could keep it longer term.

Let’s take a look at the new face of “entry level.” +Continue Reading

Locomotion people!

Sure. There are plenty of ways to get from point A to point B. You could take a bus, or bum a ride from a friend, or get a cab.

Android App of The Week: They Need to Be Fed

I like puzzle games.

I like crazy twists on puzzle games.

I like games that look like they’re for kids, but have a morbid edge to them.

Feed me, Seymour!

Ematic Release the eSport Clip

As shocking as this may seem, not everyone wants an iPod. Whether it’s a lack of interest in the iTunes ecosystem or simply the desire to save a few bucks, people are always looking for alternative MP3 players–and Ematic’s eSport Clip is here to give you a choice. A 4GB MP3/video player designed for people who want a dedicated media player while on the move, the eSport Clip is pretty packed with features (a 5MP digital camera, voice recorder, inbuilt clip to attach to your clothes or bag) considering its $29 price tag. First Impressions: The New iPad with AT&T LTE

What a night.

To celebrate the release of the New iPad, AT&T reps took a group of us bloggers out for a night on the town. Rolling around Hollywood in a stretched party limo stocked full of drinks and iPads, our happy group was even featured on the local news coverage of the release.

So all this face time with AT&T PR, in the company of fellow techies, and with the hottest slab on the market, did I like the New iPad?

Read on for my impressions… +Continue Reading

Android App of the Week: TED Talks for Your Android Device

It’s an official app!

I’ll be hammering my data plan and killing my battery. I’m something of a TED junky, and now we’ve got a direct portal to all kinds of TED goodness while we’re on the go!

The app has over 1200 talks cataloged, so if you’re not familiar with the conference, you’ll have a LOT of watching to do to catch up.

The app is laid out in a simple, almost YouTube style. Firing it up for the first time took a little while, and the app isn’t very responsive when it comes to switching from portrait to landscape, but who cares. It’s TED. Go get it . Now!

Review: The Booq Python Pack Pro Camera Bag

Bags are rad.

Recently we took a look at a great messenger style bag by Booq called the Python Courier.

It was a great solution for moving and protecting gear on a short shoot. While it was perfectly capable for a DSLR, small collection of lenses, and a tablet, there will be times when you just need to haul more kit.

Of course Booq has a solution for you. It’s called the Python Pack.
So let’s take a look. +Continue Reading

This Is How The World Ends? – Mass Effect 3 Review

Final parts of trilogies are tricky things – the expectation of payoff, both in terms of plot and emotion, and the hope that the quality won’t drop just as we reach the final hurdle. There’s the chance that while we hope for a The Return of the King, more often than not that third act can be a massive disappointment (see Spider-Man 3, X-Men: The Last Stand, Matrix Revolutions). So it was with a mixture of excitement and trepidation that I unboxed Mass Effect 3 last week. The final act of Bioware’s sci-fi odyssey (as opposed to their OTHER sci-fi odyssey) has been my most anticipated game since… well since about 30 seconds after the end of Mass Effect 2. But can it end the saga on a high note…or does the world end with a whimper?
